Frequently Asked Questions

Find the details you need before your next step.

Choosing your tent

We offer marquee, stretch and glass tent options for weddings, private celebrations and corporate events. Tell us the style you have in mind, your date and your venue so we can discuss suitable options and availability.

Guest numbers are the starting point, but the layout matters too. Seated dining, a dance floor, a stage and catering areas each need space. Send us your approximate guest count, planned activities and venue photographs so we can discuss the size and arrangement.

A marquee creates a more defined room for your event, while a stretch tent uses a tensioned fabric canopy shaped around the setting. The best choice depends on your site, layout and the level of enclosure you need. We can discuss both options against your brief.

Yes. Share your preferred date, area, estimated guest numbers and the type of occasion you are planning. We can start the conversation with that information and revisit the requirements as your plans develop.

Quotes & booking

Your quote depends on the tent style and size, hire period, venue, transport and any additional equipment. Share your event details and budget so we can discuss the priorities and prepare a quote around your requirements.

Include your event date, venue or area, approximate guest count and event type. If available, add site photographs, the dimensions of the space, access information and your preferred tent style. Tell us about flooring, draping or other items you would like included.

Check the equipment list and the arrangements for transport, installation, dismantling and collection. Ask us to clarify the hire period, any additional site requirements and how taxes or other charges are shown before you confirm the booking.

Get in touch once you have a likely date and venue. Equipment availability and the time needed to plan the installation depend on the booking. We can check your date and explain the next steps.

Contact us to check availability and review your quote. Ask for the payment schedule, any deposit requirement and written booking confirmation before making arrangements with other suppliers. The terms provided for your booking should set out how it is secured.

Let us know as soon as your plans change. A different date, layout or equipment list may affect availability and the quote. Ask us to confirm the revised arrangements and any charges in writing.

Please request the cancellation terms before confirming your booking. If you need to cancel, contact us promptly so we can explain how the terms for your booking apply. Refunds, credits and charges should be confirmed against those terms.

Your venue & setup

Send us the venue address, photographs and available dimensions. Tell us about the ground surface, slopes, nearby buildings and any restrictions on pegging. We will discuss suitability and whether a site visit or further information is needed.

Please tell us about the surface before we quote. Ground conditions and anchoring requirements affect whether and how a tent can be installed. Alternative fixing arrangements need to be assessed for the specific site rather than assumed.

Photographs and site information help us understand the space, but some venues need a closer assessment. We can discuss whether a visit is needed and confirm any arrangements or costs before it is scheduled.

Tell us about vehicle access, loading space, gate widths, stairs and the distance from the unloading point to the setup area. Share the venue’s access times and flag any underground services or restrictions that could affect the installation.

We arrange delivery, professional installation and dismantling as part of our service. The timings, access requirements and charges for your event should be confirmed in your quote, including when the equipment will be collected.

The schedule depends on your venue, event timings and the equipment required. Let us know when suppliers can access the site and when the space must be cleared. Confirm the agreed installation and collection times before the event.

Finishes & event planning

Yes. We offer draping, interlock wooden flooring and ABS flooring alongside our marquee services. We can discuss the finishes as part of the same event brief, with availability and the final equipment list confirmed in your quote.

Air conditioning and grass or Astroturf are part of our service range. Tell us how you plan to use the space so we can discuss the options and any site or power requirements.

Please discuss the weather plan with us before booking. Suitability depends on the chosen structure, anchoring, ground conditions and the forecast. Ask us to confirm the limits and contingency arrangements for your installation rather than assuming a tent is suitable for every condition.

Tell us what you want to use before bringing it into the tent. Heaters, flames, cooking equipment and items attached to the structure need to be discussed with the installation team and venue. Do not alter the tent or its fixings yourself.

Locations & getting in touch

We welcome enquiries for events in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg. Send us the venue address and date so we can confirm availability, transport and setup arrangements for that location.

A service-area page does not necessarily mean there is a depot in that city. Please ask us where the equipment will be dispatched from and how transport will be charged for your venue.

Use our contact page to share your event details, or email service@marqueetent.co.za. You can also call +27 64 545 7199. Start with your date, venue and approximate guest count, and we can take the conversation from there.

Let’s talk about your event.

You don’t need every detail decided. Tell us your date, venue and approximate guest numbers, and we’ll help you work through the next steps.
